Well I recall an earlier suggestion of it not being the Cutha but it was a river and the border is dubious depending on it being an NZMCA border or a regional one, so that leaves the Kawarau River for this particular ride. Had to do a bit of googling to check facts and in doing do came across this bit of literary prose - It would be a very good ride on a well formed and graded track with good views of the rivers on the way. We see a few well loaded jetboats fizzing past ...
The last comment helps my Kawarau theory, but that quote led me to a tourists article that said there were rudimentary captions but I did find this pic, which looked familiar - but the cption was very rdimentary and not really helpful...

The last comment helps my Kawarau theory,
You have been doing a bit of sleuthing, Grant :)
I can tell you that is is not beside the Kawarau river, but don't be discouraged :) you are definitely on the right track.
(I tried to highlight the final letter of one of the words in the above quote, but it seems, since it was inside a quote, my highlight was ignored)

Not the Catlins, Les.
You got it Chris :) It's on the East bank of the Lower Shotover, only about 5 mins downstream from the new bridge, where there is a small FC parkover. We were walking that day - trying to get over a "back problem" - me: not her.

Your turn. What have you got for us.

If you look at the time I posted my "super sleuth" guess, you will appreciate that I headed off to work about 30 minutes later and have just returned home.

Where is this great spot?
