It was great for you to call in! Hope you're enjoying your time here in Kawhia, and remember feel free to pop in and grab a couple of shovels if you plan on visiting the hot springs.

Just about to spend our third night at Shilo's Kawhia Camping Ground.
Grant is a great host and has gone out of his way to let us know all the good things there are to do here. Even where to catch the fish (as we arrived he was filleting a snapper that he had just caught and offered one) Lent us shovels to dig hot pools in the sand over at ocean beach. Only thing he hasn't organised is calm weather for kayaking. Cheapest laundry we've used in years. Come quick, before he puts the prices up!
Very happy to recommend Grant's very tidy and cosy camp at Kawhia 200m from the harbour
He's a most welcoming host

Went over the end of the Christmas break - first time since ~1988 (and that was a day trip). I appreciated the discount, although I didn't really expect it being the busy time.
An extremely relaxing break with a couple of trips over to the how water beach with the boys for an evening soak and play in the sand and some yummy snapper from the neighbors.

NZ the way I remember it used to be (and I mean that in a good way). We will be back.

That sounds like a plan, Grant. I'll have to make sure my back is behaving too :?

Peter, I do have a folding shovel (of sorts) but not as good as the flash ones Grant offered :)
