I have been running the pre-release version of Windows 10 for about 6 months, It is pretty damn good, tales the best of both windows 8 and 7 and melds them into a very good OS
I have already signed up for the upgrade and have no qualms in suggesting it to others

Darren, have you been running it on a computer with or without a touch-screen?

I'm wondering how functional it is on an old-school computer...

It is on a non touch screen laptop, about 5 years old ( it is my muck about laptop, was running Ubuntu on it, then windows 10)
if your computer is running windows 7, you may find ( as long as the hardware is somewhat compatible) you will get a performance boost by going to 10 as both it and 8 use less resources than 7.

Thanks Darren
Yep Win 7. I have reserved a copy but will read some reviews before I install it in July/August.

There is some data around that talks about the programmes you will lose but I don't know if they are only talking about apps or they also mean downloaded programs for windows 7 ... Best scenario would be to write down all the programs you do not want to lose..
Still a ways to go to move me...
