I wonder how long it will take Honda to produce a "Silent" wood fired Gennie :!: :lol: Seriously, it must be a miniature fuel cell - but it seems very cheap for that technology even if it has a very low output.

What kind of place is it where you have to rely on a fire to charge your phone, but you have access to a network?

It occurs to me that you would need to keep the fire going for a lot longer than for just cooking a meal or a cuppa if you want to provide the electric currentfor long enough to charge a battery.

They've been around for years in one form or another, we were boiling water in one 60 years ago.

Alternatively make one yourself using a perforated metal sleeve, like the armed forces did in WW2.

Given the energy required to manufacture a Biolite, the amount of use the average camper would give it, they'd generate less Co2 by sticking to gas/petrol.

Whole thing is a triumph of style over substance imo.
