Well done, the Marque has done you pretty well as I recall.
Cheers
John.

Did the swap at 10.00am this morning and smiles all round. Have to put 1000km on it prior to hitching up the van. Won't be a problem as it is a very nice place to be ;)

I lifted my baby up and gave her undercarriage a good working over..

Day 1 Put her up on stands - that look a bit more scary than they actually were - once we got them supported in the right place..
Image
Then steam cleaned the undercarriage.. and with a wire brush and a drill with one of those wire brush wheels removed all the surface rust of pretty much every square inch of metal.. including the diff, drive shaft, chassis members etc etc.. Them applied CRC Rust converter to pretty much any rust affected area.. I love how that stuff sets to a hard crust..

Day 2. Got to leave her on the heavier - more secure - lifters for the less messy job of paining..
Image
Then applied 3 cans of CRC Zinc It.. Then 4 cans of Plasti Kote Matt Super.. for a top coat.. and then bitumen type under-seal to under guards and body etc..

Now my baby's bottom is as sharp as her upper side.. :-)

Also tightened a few loose brackets around the tanks etc..

A very rewarding couple of days work.. :-)

Geeze, nice job, but damn sure I would not be under it. Did you have the winning ticket in tonight's monster Lotto?

Added two new hatch doors to facilitate outside lockers on my "super low floor" bus.

Looking at the above poster, I'd be wetting myself before going under there too, :o how much did your lotto ticket win btw? :-T

@ Neil & MG Ha ha,, Thanks for your concern guys.. but it was pretty solidly placed on the stands.. Under the springs/axles and I was assured they had held bigger rigs than mine.. Although I was thinking that would not have been a good day for one of our South Island ground tremors :-)

Finally finished the interior painting. Took a lot longer than we anticipated. Initially we were only going to give it a light sand and paint over the existing paint. But when the old paint started peeling we realized we needed to go back to bare wood and start from scratch. Also created a removable slat bed.

Nice work Crocodile, very cheerful green color :)

I got down and dirty and did the kingpins on my bus yesterday and today... Nasty job but finally got the COF on my bus and registered it officially as a motorhome! :TU

Must be time for a build story update soon, but off to wrap presents for my 7 YO's birthday tomorrow ;)
