Bluetooth Battery Checker

Postby tinkerbell » Fri Sep 25, 2015 3:12 pm

Looks like a handy thing but has anyone got this installed? and if so is it any good? Read one review that stated whenever the Bluetooth device (phone, ipad etc) left the camper then returned it needed to be reset by disconnecting the batterycheck device off the batteries and reinstalling it, this would be a pain for us where our batteries are.

I experimented with a BM PRO BatteryCheck late last year. I had no bluetooth reconnection issues (android).
A very clever device, but it was not suitable for our use.

The only method to check battery information was to grab a phone or tablet, turn on, activate app and read.
100A current limit was not sufficient for our intended use.
No lithium battery profile at the time.

My Votronic battery monitor with a 400A shunt suits our needs perfectly with the single house/truck 300Ah LiFePO4 battery pack. It handles the 600A+ engine start current with ease.
The monitor display is permanently on and immediately viewable at eye level.

We have that same Votronic monitor from AA Solar as photo above in the link, even I can work out what the state of play is, without needing an electronics degree!
