For what my opinion is worth... Could I suggest you look at a Little Cracker fire - if you have room.
I had a Eberspacher which packed a sad. Too expensive to fix and the start up fan was noisy, so made the change and don't ever regret it.
Personally I would not want LPG heating or fridge, too many stories of bad stories or explosions etc.

funny you should say that as that is what we are considering ..For the cost of the unit it stacks up and does not have to be compliant with the gas and more efficient,, and ambient .. Cheers to all who have commented :)

I love my Little Cracker fire.
I'm in Christchurch at Weedons right now, strong winds and temp is 11deg with a real feel of 6deg.
Guess what! My fire is going and I'm snug and warm, 25deg inside - on a few small logs and a shovel of coal.

We had a Propex LPG heater in the 26 ft Jayco and it worked just fine although noisy and the thermostat worked in that the heater was on or off - no low speed fan. In our new 7.2 metre SS we have a D2 Eberspatcher and it is just great. We have one duct into bedroom and one into lounge and apart from noisy startup, once up to desired temp it is very quiet and we leave it on overnight which we would never do with the LPG heater. Diesel is readily available anywhere (unlike LPG) and can be used as spare for the tug and can be carried in a standard tin (unlike LPG). It takes the pressure off the LPG system in the van during winter and pushes out fill intervals. It will start and provide heat no matter what the outside temp. If you frequent cold climes and have issues with LPG equipment, you could duct the diesel heater to warm the LPG bottles. Quality diesel heaters are not cheap but we love ours. Cheers. :D

Absolutely with you on that Derb. Love our Eberspacher and we spend quite a bit of winter above 800m altitude.
