truma gas heater

Postby KATEE29 » Sat Jun 13, 2015 7:20 pm

we have a Tabbert Vivaldi caravan with a Truma gas heater . Works well...only problem is it has a battery(AA) to ignite it but once ignited we have to take out the battery as it just keeps on clicking which means its trying to ignite still even after its started the heater. Any ideas anyone. thanks in advance

The starter is activated by pressing down on the gas control dial. Is the dial working properly and springing back?

yes we have checked that. it comes up to the correct level. it really annoying as it means taking the front off heater everytime we light it and removing the battery

I have the same problem with my gas hob at home which of coarse uses 240 volts and not a battery I have had to turn the system off and light is manually other wise the four auto lights keep trying to light the individual hobs even when the gas is off so it must be a common problem

I have just checked on Google and most articles refer to the ignite r being dirty and it is recommended that you use acetone to clean it the manufacturer adds this as a safety devise
