My Sky on Demand ?

Postby *Glenn* » Sat Oct 03, 2015 2:28 pm

I know that there have been problems with decoders not working with the old Sky cards, but can anyone tell me if the new My Sky on Demand box changes will introduce a new ID card for these new boxes that will not work with decoders that now work with the My Sky cards? I have a Zeatek 4300HD. Anyone got their new My Sky on Demand yet and tried it ?

Hi.

I don't have or intend to get a Sky on Demand decoder.

I have been informed by a Sky installer that the new Sky card with the Sky On Demand box will only work on the Sky On Demand decoder. The cards are coded specifically to each Sky On Demand box and hence will only work in the assigned decoder.

That's what I am trying to find out from someone who has already got the new Sky on Demand card because of conflicting info so far. A person in the industry has also said that if your decoder can use a My Sky card (not the older Sky) it will also take and operate with the My Sky on Demand. If someone already has the new version, could the please let me / us know

Hi all we have had the very much talked about mysky upgrade by sky. I just tried it in our van and no longer can we get a sky signal.

How is everyone else getting on ?? have you got the same issue ? I thought I would ask here before I ring sky and tell them to jam it, if I can't use the card in our van when we go away not that we watch a lot of tv while away, I feel we pay for sky whether we choose to watch it at home or on the road that should not matter.

Just something someone else is trying to take away, sky are getting like some councils. :(

We upgraded to Sky on Demand from MY SKY (not SKY) My SKY has a Blue card and the card does not need to be changed for the upgrade unless you have SKY. My card still continues to work(the blue card)
If you have a dome you might need an upgrade to your decoder which is no big deal, just contact your dome dealer

Note: SKY and MY SKY are completely different. SKY will not upgrade to SKY ON DEMAND without a new decoder. MY SKY will

Glenn we have mysky and sky have just done a software upgrade. If you have mysky you will notice that the title and information on the tv screen when you push the information button on the sky remote that the writing or font is a hell of a lot smaller and that is what everyone is complaining to sky about. Ours has just gone through the upgrade, so I thought that I would try it in the caravan and sure enough no more sky signal.

Are you using the home 240v Sky Box or a 12v motorhome decoder ? Wind up aerial or a dome ?

I have my sky and have had the software update which happened over night a couple of weeks ago. The format had all changed eg. smaller writing, slower to react etc. but the card still works in my Zeatek decoder in the camper. The decoders that are getting changed out are the original My Sky decoders issued and all the non My Sky decoders that are still in use.
Cheers
Hugh
