Worked at Aratiatia when it first started, actually we we there before it started.
The weir was still being built, once all was operating we use to open the gates for an hour and a half in the morning and afternoon, managed to put a body through on one occasion, it was noted by a visitor at the lower lookout when the gates were shut and the water level in the rapids subsided.

Swing bridges, tunnels, rivers, mines and old ruins, it’s all there in a nice easy walk in the Karangahake Gorge.

Chris, Bowentown camp is a great place. We used to go there lots when our kids were young.

Mike and Bec will be great there. Mike's family have owned the Top 10 camp in Papamoa for generations, so he should know what he is doing.
