George has travelled to Hawkes Bay on his way to Wellington and the Picton Ferry. I had a quick look at his installation yesterday, and yes the inverter is wired by passing the the J Hub shunt. The other issue is that the massive cables for the inverter are correctly connected to the plus on one battery and the negative on the other - BUT the cables paralleling the two batteries are tiny by comparison with the plus one having an in line fuse. The reason the fuse blew is the current to power the inverter has to pass through it and it is way too small for the application. The hair dryer will be left in the drawer until some changes can be made. ;) :)
