Neil, you would need 8 x 200 AH cells to provide 200 AH at 24 volts. This is the equivalent stored energy of course as 400 AH at 12 volts.
Yup!

I was working it out just like that, 8x200AH (@ $200/ea) on the link above... but when I realised its US$ and added the shipping and GST (even without ‘customs fees’ it blew into the mid $4K range and I returned to reality

1565 USD (free shipping) x 1.5 (exchange rate)= 2348NZD

+ GST = 2700 NZD

+ unknown fees (lets call it 300 NZD-= 3000NZD

AA solar cells = 4 x 200ah for 2467NZD. Multiply x 2 for 24v pack = 4934 NZD

...But, I am not super convinced of the genuineness of these Ecodream cells

Pretty sure these are legit, though.

The economics are not as pretty as the questionable DHgate ones.

3431NZD inc. shipping for 8 x 200ah cells

plus GST= 3,946NZD

plus potential other fees (call it 300NZD) = 4245NZD

Starts to make the AA solar price of 4934 look a lot better... And, makes lead acid start to look a lot better, too lol

If anyone is interested, I have been looking at these...

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 574cQdg4Fb

They are CALB 180 ah cells. They are the newer variety of cell from CALB and supplied by a legit on-seller of CALB.

I have contacted customs and have had the run-down on fees. Basically, the charges are as follows...
1. GST
2. $55 process fee
3. Any item-specific duties (there are none for lithium batteries)(

So, when I calculate all that out the pricing on these cells is not bad at all. It is even better if I buy 16 instead of 8. I'm looking at buying 16. Would anyone fancy buying 8 off me for $2750 NZD?

*I haven't purchased any yet, just trying to gauge if I could on-sell the extras if I did

I am very interested in getting 16 of these cells, to construct 2 x 24V 180Ah batteries.

For 24V you’d only need 8?

Unless you actually meant 2p8s and 360Ah@24v??
