Help! I used flyspray to kill a spider in my caravan and it set the gas detector off! I’ve silenced the alarm but the red flashing light is still going. I have opened vents etc and have a fan on to blow the fly spray out but how do I get the gas detector to stop the flashing light?

Hi, try removing the power to it, remove battery or turn off power to it.Paul

Thanks for the response. Panic over - the light eventually stopped flashing once the caravan had aired out a bit. Good to know it works as designed though.

Hi Carren,
Some years ago we tested our sensor and found other things triggered the alarm too. Perfume spray, hydrogen gas emission from overcharging of stuffed lead acid batteries, hydrogen sulphide when passing near Whakarewarewa and even farting near the device all set it off. Even LPG and butane triggers it (as they should).
