You're not wrong about the Fairlie pies Chris, the venison are to die for, one of the little gems in the south. Hamden also at Vanessa's are worth a visit.

The Pork Belly with apple and topped with crackle is definitely my failing. Closely followed by Lamb Shank / Mint from Jimmy's Pies in Roxburgh. :Y :Y :Y

Just got home from the south from a 2month winter trip and went to Fairlie for a pie and couldn't believe the queue down the street. But even so got my pie and bloody great it was ! Also went to Jimmies and was very disappointed with the quality.
