Have finally dragged Marg away from her family in Christchurch and spent last night at a friends place near Oxford. We did prove that The Elddis could cope with the rough stuff when we parked up for lunch under the Waimak Gorge Bridge for lunch - Until the nor-wester almost blew us back to Christchurch. The concrete has been poured around the new Weedons dump station so this may well be operating when we head back north in early April.
We also called in to check out the new "Willows" NZMCA Park on the banks of the Waimakariri River near West Melton. A nice tidy sheltered secure spot handy for those who are keen to catch a fish.
We are currently parked up at The Ashburton Showgrounds to check out this event https://www.mhftowns.com/towns/ashburto ... show-2020/ before meandering down to Geraldine on Sunday afternoon.

We were intending to spend Sunday night at Peskies POP near Geraldine, but due to the influx of grey nomads heading to the National Rally, that site was full so we made alternative arrangements and parked up at Pleasant Valley Hall. Excellent quiet location and only $3.00 pp / pn. Moved on to the recently redeveloped Tekapo NZMCA Park for Monday night, last night at Twizel Town & Country Club and now on the canal for a few days chasing salmon.

Unsure at this stage David. We have about another 7 days either here or at Round Bush Reserve on Lake Ohau, then off over the Lindis Pass to Cromwell. Waitaki Valley might get missed as we need to get back to Christchurch to follow up on our pending motorhome purchase. Not planning too far in advance at this stage.

Ohau is rather nice. We used to boat there and Pukaki as well, as Dad liked to do ski races, and long distance powerboat races.
