I agree with Nut17 - more camps should become motorhome friendly. The number of motorhomers (caravaners inc of course) has increased enormously and commercial operators need to be working out how to cater for you guys instead of trying to use council red tape to "force" stays in their camp.

When I was last in the industry owning a camp was my dream, and now I have one (albeit a small one) I'm thinking "what have I got myself into - 7 day weeks for very little return" but I enjoy the work so financially successful or not this venture should be fun! :) Oh, a couple more bits about the camp: Yes it does have free Wifi and it is also dog & pet friendly outside the public holidays.

Yes the camp is the one near the boat ramp and its already fully booked for the Xmas / NY season. Am also starting to get bookings for February's Kawhia Kai Festival which looks like another busy time.

Anyway thanks for your comments guys and it will be great to put faces to names if you make your way over "The Hill" in the pic below:

Thank-you Shilo for your kind offer.

Kawhia is on our list of places to visit as we have never been there so we will definitely come and see you next year sometime. Hope you like red wine ... :)

I would assume it is as the other camps here are called Beach S-cape and Forest View. I can't check because even though the camp has the NZMCA wings on the sign I've been unable to find a copy of the directory in the camp (haven't personally been a member). You might be able to match up 410 from the website. The link below is the old website that will shortly be upgraded to one that doesn't make me blush with embarrassment each time I see it:

410 is listed as 73 Moke so that's it.

A very nice little town, we really enjoyed the few hours we spent there on our 2011 NI tour. It might have been more memorable had the MH caught fire due to my negligence, leaving the kettle heating up on the gas stove whilst we closed the door and went away on a 40min walk.

Great to meet Shilo this evening and even though we are not staying in his motorcamp at the moment, he was very forthcoming with local information, thank you Shilo. BTW, the fish and chips are as good as advertised.
