Need some suggestions please, we have a fully laden nectarine tree but the fruit is still a while away from being ripe and because of the weight of fruit on one branch, it broke off and now we have a few KG of unripe fruit.

Rather than throw it out (still a bit green to eat)

What can we do with it?

Colin you could try cooking them in your quarter acre pot and let it go all day until they turn to mush, smash them up a bit with a potato masher then freeze in ice cube trays. Defrost to use in muffins, desserts or cakes etc. The slow cooking should bring the natural sugar out so they don't taste so unripe.

Or you could search online for a chutney or pickle recipe using unripe stone fruit.

The stewing in the quarter acre worked well, now being used on breakfast cereal and icecream.
