That's good to hear, Rudy and Heather.

We haven't made mulled wine for ages, you could make your guests some Churros to go with the mulled wine.
Churros
(the ideal place to cook these is outside around a campfire, using a portable gas ring and a large old pot)
You will need:
1 cup water
2 heaped tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
50g butter
1 1/4 cups white flour
2 eggs, lightly whisked
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fresh oil for cooking ( not olive oil)
Coating after cooking:
1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
I/2 cup of sugar
Method
Place water, brown sugar, salt, and butter in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Remove from the heat, add the flour and mix really well then add the eggs, a little at a time and continue to mix well.
Transfer the mixture in a piping bag ( a piece of baking paper folded and rolled into a funnel then cut end off, can be used) you and make fingers approximately 5 to 6 cm long, with practice you can make them longer than this if desired.
Heat oil in a large saucepan until a little dough sizzles when it is dropped in. Cook 4-5 churros at a time until golden brown, although first few times just a few at a time may be a good idea. Drain on a paper towel and then dust with combined sugar and cinnamon.
Enjoy! calorie count? Who cares!
