Its not about dumping fresh water.....
Isn't it, then why is this thread headed 'Dumping Fresh Water'

I can remember when Weedons first stated and bulbs were planted along the roadside boundary, they did very well having had copious liters of so called 'Grey' water spread around them.

There is a real paranoia about the dumping of 'Grey' water, fear of grubs, bugs etc etc., no wonder our Hospitals and Doctors are over loaded, no natural resistances are being built up in the modern human body, thank goodness when I was a younger person I mucked around with all sorts of 'Stuff'

The problem is not dumping clean water, I would be stunned if anyone had a problem with fresh water being dumped onto plants, grass or into storm water. The problem is the perception as most dumping of liquid from motor homes is not fresh water.

The problem is dumping water.

Any discussion as to it acceptability has to deal with the very real issue of what people think when they see a motor home dumping water. If you are an NZMCA member, you have signed up to a code of conduct that says your actions will not bring the organization into disrepute. A video on social media a a motorhome with liquid running out to a big puddle will not attract the assumption you are empting fresh water tanks. Councils will be presented with such a video as evidence that Freedom campers are bad for the district....

Its unfortunate so few people understand that the if we want to continue to have freedom camping, perception is more important as the actual actions. I suspect more than a few understand, but the know that by the time the law changes, they will be confinement to a rest home so don't give a proverbial as it won't affect them.

The clever people who converted our bus installed a tap and hose fitting next to the tow bar. When I need to empty out the fresh water tank I can either attach a hose and wash the bus or water the plants. It’s also good for washing sandy feet at the beach. I give the pump a rest every now and then in case it overexerts itself.

Now that is a good idea. :TU No-one washes their unit with dirty water do they. If you use a separate matching water pump to the hose that the van uses - always a spare pump on hand should the house-water pump fail. I gotta do that.
