A sad out come and would come out on the wrong side of the law as an insecure load / attachment. I would be interesting to see how the installation was done. I personally am more than happy to rely solely on the correct adhesive in conjunction with appropriate mounting brackets and correct surface preparation. Another major installation about to be undertaken with four 240 watt and two 190 watt panels to fit on our new rig.

I have just finished removing the flexible panels from the roof of my bus. I am going to replace them with the latest generation flexibles. I just do not want all that weight and structure on the roof that comes with rigid units and am not prepared to turn the roof int a swiss cheese to keep them safe. the interesting thing in removing the old ones is that I used a mix of locally purchased 3m double sided tape and the rest from Aliexpress. The Aliexpress tape out gunned the 3m tape booth in durability and sticking power by a huge margin.

Can you tell us how they fix to your roof? Do you use the normal mounting blocks ?

See my other post in this article. Both tapes were OK but the stuff from China was far more durable and cheaper

The first time I glued panel brackets on with sikaflex-11FC, I got cold feet and ended up puting a bolt through each bracket. I have since added extra panels with no bolts. I have however thought of installing one ring securely to the roof and tethering all the panels to it with stranded stainless wire. In the case of a glue failure, the panels would be restained.
