Since you are charging a 12 volt battery from a 15 Amp controller, your maximum solar panel input is limited to about 200 Watts. You could use a 12 Volt or a 24 Volt 200 Watt panel, but a 12V panel would give a bit more power, especially at low light levels. Because of the higher current, it should have heavier cable than that required for a 24v panel.

I have used those plastic brackets, they would be fine on a composite panel or well-braced caravan roof, but they are not appropriate for a more flexible roof (e.g. single skin fibreglass, and probably sheet metal).

As you see, I used bolts as well as adhesive which clearly didn't help. Adhesive alone might have lasted longer, but eventually it would have separated at the edges: the brackets are just too stiff to stay stuck to something that moves.

I'm the belt and braces kind of over-engineer: while adhesive alone is adequate, the consequence of loosing* a 15kg sheet of glass at 90kph is serious enough that I want some kind of mechanical backup attachment.

*Yes I know how to spell losing. Loosing, as in firing from a catapult.
