Here at Totaranui DOC camp this morning.
Should I suggest a better setup to our fellow camper? :?

Between the rear mirror, bungee cord and the wiper arm shading I would expect that "200 watt" panel to output perhaps 10-20W at best in full sunshine assuming it could even manage to produce the 14v or so necessary to charge any connected battery. :-T

Actually it’s a darn shame the owner obviously has no idea how the whole solar thing works🙁.

We have a couple in a caravan parked near us who rely on a small portable folding solar array (around 100 watts) and I commented that at around 2.00 pm that his array was about 60% shaded and would not be producing any viable charge current and his reply was that his battery was at 12.5 volts so it was still charging fine !! I did attempt to enlighten him but I quickly realised that it would be akin to "flogging a dead horse" and left him to his state of delusion. :? :o
