PS. Sorry when I say supplied I mean 12v positive to the VIN terminal of the shunt.

I wondered what 2w and 3w meant. I have as you have described the 2 wire set up with same battery. Have switched it to 2w and the light is on. Still no power or signal to the display until though.

can i just check - wiring the shunt. I connected the negatives under the bolts/washers on top. I saw one you tube video where he took the top circuit board off and connected the negative wires below. I don't see why this would make a difference because the bolts must go through to the bottom circuit board to complete the circuit. Or maybe they don't and the bottom board does not have a circuit and thus no power? I'm assuming the bottom board is for comms and the top is to do with the shunt!

it's much better to under sell and then be surprised. I didn't expect my simple questions to grow so much.

all working now. added an earth to the controller as well.

just can't get a signal or connection from the monitor to the display unit.

Have you tried it on Wireless Communication?
Unplug the USB cable.
Supply 12 volts to the Monitor via the supplied plug.
If wireless connection is successful, a little aerial and signal strength icon appears in the top left corner of the monitor.

i can get the display unit to switch on - it just doesn't seem to find a signal.

Hi, you need to set up the äddress" number on display. mine is A81 if that helps . Paul
