That drawbar looks like if nothing else it will work as an effective "bump stop" for those nasty tail drag situations

With that length of axle to ball, I would interested how it tows 3000kg. With 300kg on the ball, it will add 450-500 to the rear axle and remove 150-200kg from the front. Perfect for a bike rack or 6x4 covered trailer, probably not the ideal tug for a 25 foot boat :D

If the tow bar does get through LTSA certification the most common task will be to mount our bike rack with two eBikes. Alternatively, my jet boat that comes in about 600kg on the trailer and about 30 kg on the ball. If the boat gets the tick, I will have to make up some sort of racks for the bikes to go on the boat. ;) In either case the tow bar and its mounting points will not suffer any excessive loading.
My old work truck with only a 3.0 metre wheel base had the tow bar a fair distance from the the rear axle and apart from being grossly under powered when faced with towing our 3500 kg + caravan with around 380 kg on the ball did not have much noticeable effect on driving dynamics related the transfer of axle weights. The truck with no water in the tanks was around 2300 kg on the front and 1800 kg on the rear.

Don't forget space for the trailer for a Quad so you can retrieve jetboat while dinner is being cooked for you :-T

The quad can ride on top of the boat with the eBikes ;)

Well the existing tow bar is now certified - Great, but it appears that I may well have a 160 watt semi flexible solar panel for sale in the near future. Hopefully I will be able to remove it from it current position without damage. This is a photo of the roof of our motorhome. The panel has been fitted right where I will be installing my satellite dish !!
