Couldn't agrre more with both above posts.
With front fog lights the brightness reflected off the road in wet conditions creates a greater quantity of reflected light for approaching traffic.
The rear are the same with brightness and often are equal to stop lights.

I need to check the road code where I am sure that fog lights, which should be all on separate switches, are only to be used in foggy conditions.

Just been through the NZTA web site.
It is against the law to use any fog lights in clear conditions.
So there may be a penalty/fine attached.
Both UK and Aus have fines and demerits for use in clear conditions.

Hi ,thought i`d just clarify as in the UK front fog lights are yellow , these reflect the light off fog far less and so do make it easier to see without blinding oncoming traffic .Know many kiwis who call the front lower `driving` lights fog lights .There not .

I moved here in 2012 and up to then I don't recall any fog lights on cars I saw or owned being yellow.
I do recall French headlights being yellow though and really noticing them as there were so few around...

I do hate rear fog lights that use an on/off switch - a momentary toggle that is reset on turning off the car is far better as they have to be deliberately turned on again.
