Hi Guys,
Does anyone have a recommendation for where to get my Nissan Civilian serviced in Hawke's Bay?
I bought it from Te Puke where it was serviced by a heavy Vehicle service agent.

Pretty much any truck shop can service it
or even a decent car shop as it is not much different from a Nissan Patrol

If it’s only changing filters and oil, why not have a go yourself and save heaps. With a little help from youtube, you will be surprised what you can do. Buy your filters and oil from Repco or Supercheap when on special and save even more.

Yeah the money that you save can be spent on all the 'spray and walk awayy' degreaser you'll need if its a Nissan TD42 with those 2 big oil filters laying on their side just above the starter motor and tucked away in behind the chassis rail. Let us know how you get on :TU

Leave it there for rust protection.

These two darlings are what turn this job into an experience most people willingly pay someone else to undertake.

We asked for a heavy vehicle service center to quote to service our bus. We've never had it done since we've owned it but this said - we have not owned it that long and have not done a lot of mileage. We are in the middle of outfitting the bus to suit our style of motorhome use and have kept the vehicle mobile.

After we got quoted around the $1500 mark for a full service, decided to become acquainted with the service requirements of our bus. The biggest challenge faced by Nissan Civilian owners doing their own oil change is removing the 2 x engine oil filters Nissan conveniently tucked above the starter and behind the chassis rail. We are talking the TD42 engine here.

When you reach this stage here - everything starts to get a lot easier.
