Hi friends,
I'm building my own campervan. Do I need to to follow Electrical standard AS/NZS 3001:2008 and get the Electrical Warrant of Fitness (EWOF) if I build ONLY a 12V circuit. In other words, if I build a circut that will NOT be connectect to the 240V network whatsoever? :?:
Cheers, :TU

Nope, if your van is ONLY 12 volts and does not contain any 240v wiring, you can do what you like

Although 12V is not prescribed electrical work and there are no checks for compliance, it still has to be done to the standards that makes it electrically safe. With 12V, this essentially means an attempt to do it properly and making sure it cannot not setting fire to things.
