We really do live in "Paradise" - Jet Boating has been a passion of mine since 1970 when I purchased my first Jet Boat at age 19. My current boat is now 20 years old and showing a few battle scars but still keeps all the modern shiny rigs honest when it comes to performance and reliability. With our change to a motorhome looming I look forward to hitching the boat on and heading south exploring some of the excellent rivers and lakes.
The photo below shows Andrew (Andrew & Debbie) hanging on as we perform the obligatory "J" Spin at the end of a run up the river.

Of all boating, shooting up a river in a jet boat would have to be the best. :TU

Good stuff Chris ,brings back the times when we were into it . First boat an old Hamilton jet 32 ,kids loved it ,not too powerfull ,bloody heavy to push out of a `stuck` .Got a soggy bum in the end and spent more time being repaired than going ( zephyr powered ) So an alloy hull was ordered from
Scott marine ,now at Winchester, Lexus 4ltr v8 , and 2 stage unit put in .Bought parts and fitted rest out myself over 9 months .Was an interesting excercise .
That WAS great fun ,had a lot of excursions out with the Canterbury club . Sadly it got to the stage where the kids and missus no longer wanted to partake and it sat in the garage for too long ,so welcome to the world of motorhoming /caravaning . Hope your keeping on top of those buggers messin you around . Cheers Andy .

Well that is a revelation Andy. You may well be a contender for a crew on occasion when we venture down south. My boat is completely home built by me powered by a 1994 VR Commodore 3.8 V6 and running a Dominator (Berkley Replica) pump with custom larger intake grill, Scott steering nozzle and Hamilton reverse bucket.

Had a mate with a MK4 Zephyr with the V6, and a V8 jetboat, size and specs unknown over the decades but anyway swapped the motors and improved both dramatically.

Cheers
