Some of my lovely children have provided a wonderful parking place for Nana and Koro's motorhome on their rural block near Takaka. In addition to a water supply they have laid power on through a "builder's box" with an external "reyrolle" type socket (standard campground socket). There is a circuit breaker board inside the box and a twin domestic 3-pin socket. When I plug in via the campground socket it trips the box circuit breaker. If I plug in via my certified 16A-10A campground-3 pin adaptor box it's fine. I have a current EWOF and the bus has it's own RCD and circuit breaker.

Any suggestions as to why I can't run from the round socket?

I would be tempted to pay for a sparky to take a look. Could be a minor problem around RCD trip currents, but could also be something like a phase/neutral transposition in the caravan socket. Has the socket ever been used?

Mattn I presume you mean the supply box socket? If so, this is the first time it's been used since it was recently installed.
