I have 4 lead acid batteries that total 440 amp hrs. To replace them with lithium batteries what would the cost be thanks David

A 300 AH LiFePO4 battery would effectively replace your 440 AH lead acid based existing batteries.
LITH-AA-SN-300AHA Sinopoly 4 cell battery = 300Ahr 13.2V, 363 x 220 x 328mm h, 39kg $3693 plus $269 for a Votronic Monitor.

Plus a controller/charger suitable for Lithium if you don't already have one ~$2-300.
Plus temp. sensor and heating if you want to travel down South - most professional installs try to keep Lithium Bats. above 5 deg C. when charging ~$2-300.
Plus installation and changes to cabling/connectors etc. ~$2-300.

So you probably wouldn't get much change out of $5,000.

A set of new Lead Acid T-105's should come in under $1,400 as a comparative cost...

Myles, all my LiFePO4 installations (two so far and another about to happen) have had the battery pack inside the van enjoying the same warm environment that we do in the van. Charging regimes are virtually identical to most lead acid requirements ( I have my mains charger set to Gel) Cabling, fuses and other protection should not be any different to those required for lead acid installation.

Although not the intention of this thread.
Our costs moving from LA to a lithium battery setup. We already had a programmable battey charger (still unused), solar controller and battery monitor.

Battery - expensive
Victron 120A power Schottky diode block to reduce alternator charging voltage/current - $100
Victron 120A programmable low voltage and emergency high voltage cut off - $100
A few heavy duty crimp terminals - inexpensive
A few meters of 4 gauge and 8 gauge cable- inexpensive
A few small terminals etc. - inexpensive
A few hours of my time - priceless :-T

Hi Rex - Welcome.

Fitting a LiFePO4 battery in most cases is simply removing the lead acid model and bolting the lithium unit in it's place. A shunt based monitor that actually counts the amp hours in and out of your battery keeping an accurate state of charge is important as voltage based guides used for lead acid will not work with the very flat voltage curve with lithium. If you purchase a battery fro AA Solar, they will insist that you purchase a "Votronic" meter with a matching relay that will disconnect the load preventing the battery from being discharged below 30%.
