With our portable home dehumidifier in our back main bedroom we have to run it 24/7 to get the proper effect from it..at 60%. 260w. No condensation at all ..in our current 60+yrs renovated wooden board house.
So don't know what effect a 12v will have in a 6m bus but maybe if run over night it will help. They can be noisy once they start the actual process, not just the fan going.. They are a mini fridge concept, hence leaving ours on instead of turning it off and on. :TU

Almost certainly too much power consumption to make a difference, unless you are on mains.
One I looked at - 65W for 2l/day. 65W is 1500WH per day - you would need 1000W of panels in winter to power it.

Agreed only a mains operation option.
The Warehouse has 10 and 20l/day models going cheap. :? Forget the toy "up to" 0.5l/day wannabes.

Personally i am not a fan for dehumidifiers - too often they a way to deal to a symptom and mask a problem - an expensive way.

In many (most?) cases, cheaper and healthier to open a window / vent and heat up the cold air coming in. In all cases, its better to deal with the source of the moisture in the first place. In a few cases, they make sense and can be effective, but should not be 'first port of call' in dealing with moisture.

We have always run our domestic de-humidifier for a full 24 hrs with bed up and all drawers and cupboards open along with heater set at 24 degrees after coming home from a trip away during cold or damp weather. It is a good way to really dry out the van/drapes/carpets/soft furnishings and ensure no mould whilst van is closed up and unused. We also leave the van in this state until the next outing. Sometimes get up to 8 liters of water in this 1st period. I have emptied it and run it for a further 24 hrs before but have found it is pointless as we only ever recover another 500 mls or so on the 2nd day.
